Just like last year, the main event is taking place in Seattle and a race taking place a week prior up north in Anacortes, Wa. This time it is happening downtown Seattle in South Lake Union, surrounded by world-famous headquarters including the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance which also includes the Seattle Children Hospital, The Hutch Foundation and the University of Washington.
Besides the usual branding and design activities associated with promoting the events, including social media posting, we are excited to take part in securing the main sponsorship this year.
The uniqueness of the race is its set up; a boat can win digitally or on the water or both. The virtual race starts weeks in advance, as soon as a boat registers. Dollar contributions turns into buoys allocated to the sponsored boat, once on the water the boats are competing for different prizes in various classes (female skipper, boat class, sizes, etc...) This unique format allows for an event that goes beyond a weekend, it is allowing for the sponsors to have a longer span of exposure so the organization can raise more dollars which are all benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. which will be officially attending the event for the first time this year as well.
